Feminist Economic Governance

The webinar will bring together diverse experiences and expertise from government, international organisations, trade unions, private sector and civil society in a conversation around issues of gender equality in economic governance and rights, with a focus on the labour market against the backdrop of pandemic crisis and recovery.

Covid-19 has increased gender inequalities and particularly impacted women's socio-economic situation, with an increase in unpaid care and domestic work as well as gender based violence. Addressing unequal power structures both at home and in the workplace, access to social security systems and the promotion of an equal distribution of power and influence is imperative for women’s economic empowerment and for improved resilience and recovery at societal level.
